Editorial Policy

How Finance Charts researches, sources, reviews and updates financial education content for a global audience.

Purpose

Finance Charts publishes financial education, not personalised financial advice. Editorial content should help a reader understand a decision, calculation or trade-off without manufacturing certainty.

Source hierarchy

For globally applicable financial claims, Finance Charts prefers primary and authoritative sources. Depending on the subject, this can include international institutions, regulators, government agencies, official issuer documentation, fund documents, audited company reporting and original Finance Charts calculations.

National sources can support a general concept, but country-specific law, tax, pensions, account structures and consumer protections should not be presented as globally applicable.

Original calculations and research

When Finance Charts publishes an original calculation, the assumptions and method should be reproducible from the page or linked methodology. Research based on external market data should only be published when the intended use is permitted and the data treatment can be explained clearly.

AI-assisted work

AI tools may assist with drafting, code, research organization, editing or analysis. AI assistance is not treated as a source. Material factual claims should be checked against appropriate evidence before publication, and Finance Charts does not invent personal experiences, expert quotes or data to make content appear more authoritative.

Projections versus historical evidence

Projected examples and historical observations must be labelled separately. A projection should not be described as something that happened in the market, and historical performance should not be presented as a forecast of future results.

Commercial relationships

Commercial relationships should not silently change calculator outputs or editorial conclusions. If sponsorship, affiliate relationships or other material commercial arrangements are introduced, relevant disclosures should be made where a reasonable reader would need them to evaluate the content.

Corrections and updates

Material factual errors should be corrected when identified. Pages should show an updated date when substantive changes are made. Where a correction materially changes the meaning of a published conclusion, the correction should be made clear rather than silently rewriting the record.

Global audience

General Finance Charts content is global by default. Localized pages should name the jurisdiction they cover and should be maintained as the underlying rules change.
