Formula

Net worth is total assets minus total liabilities.

A positive result means the value entered for assets is greater than the debt entered. A negative result means liabilities exceed assets. Neither result measures income, cash flow or investment performance.

Net worth statement

Create a dated snapshot of what you own and what you owe.

Update the starter rows with realistic balances, decide which items belong in your liquid view, then download the statement as a CSV for Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. The export keeps the individual asset and liability rows as well as the calculated totals.

A net worth statement is most useful as a repeatable snapshot. Using the same valuation approach at regular intervals makes changes easier to interpret.

Liquid view

Liquidity is a classification decision, not one universal formula.

Cash is normally liquid. Property is normally not. Investments, retirement accounts, vehicles and debts can require more judgment because access, taxes, penalties, sale time and the purpose of the calculation differ.

This calculator does not silently decide for you: every row has an explicit “Include” control.
